Mike Beatty
Co-Founder & Private Investigator
Mike Beatty is the Co-Founder of VonFeldt & Beatty Investigations, Inc. Prior to creating VBI in 2011, Beatty was employed for five years by the State of Colorado as an Investigator for the Public Defender's Office. His work contributed to the representation of clients in the County and District Courts of Larimer, Jackson, Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln Counties.
A graduate of Colorado State University, Beatty received his BA in Sociology, with a concentration in Criminal Justice. He worked as an Investigative Intern in 1999 for David L. Williams, Inc and in 2001 for the State of Colorado. From 2004-2006, Beatty lived in Austin, Texas, where he was employed as a Court Clerk for Honorable Judge Susan D. Sheppard. He also worked as a volunteer for the Austin Police Department's Crisis Response Team during that time.
Beatty specializes in both misdemeanor and felony criminal investigations, including First Degree Murder, Domestic Violence, Assault, Sexual Assault, Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Vehicular Homicide, Drug and Marijuana Possession / Distribution, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI). He also does work on civil, family, and corporate matters.
Beatty is a licensed and fully bonded Private Investigator II in the state of Colorado. He is approved as an Investigator with the Office of Alternate Defense Counsel (OADC), Office of Respondent Parents' Counsel (ORPC), Office of the Child's Representative (OCR), Denver Municipal Public Defender's Office, and the U.S. District Court of Colorado. He is also a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (CCDB), where he previously served on the Board of Directors. Beatty has testified numerous times in Larimer, Lincoln, Arapahoe, Denver, and El Paso Counties.
Although he has lived in Brisbane, Australia, Maui, HI, and Austin, TX, Beatty is proud to call Denver home- where his cache of resources and contacts is easily-accessible.
